One of our favorite flicks around these parts is without question Trent Haaga's Deadgirl. A depraved tale of a few kids who come across a nude female zombie and ... well ... act the way psycho teens would act. Talk of a sequel has been swirling around forever. However, the coffin nail has come.

Around a week or so ago a story hit online regarding the sequel to the amazing indie flick Deadgirl. Even a possible plot was outlined. Today the man behind the movie, Trent Haaga, offered his two cents. From Haaga's blog:

If you missed Trent Haaga's Deadgirl at festivals or on DVD, do yourself a favor ... Rectify that situation immediately. The film is nothing short of riveting and features an absolutely fearless performance from star Jenny Spain. Like all good movies, talk of a sequel has begun to rumble ...

A true bounty of goods await those who have a few extra dollars to spend on DVDs this week what with Grace, Deadgirl, and (can you believe it?) Phantasm II finally hitting the home market, An American Werewolf in London and Army of Darkness bowing on Blu-ray, and NBC's Fear Itself anthology series getting released in its entirety. And that's just the beginning!

The madmen (and women) behind the Boston Underground Film Festival gave us another heads up today about a new film that’s been added to their programming; Marcel Sarmiento & Gadi Harel’s Deadgirl (review)!

Gold Circle Films has tapped the writing/directing duo behind Deadgirl (review) to update the Danish thriller Murk (Mørke) according to THR. Marcel Sarmiento & Gadi Harel will both write and direct the Murk update, which sounds like it’ll be another polarizing film for the team.
