If you’re too young to have experienced the aerobics craze of the 1980’s, consider yourself lucky. On the plus side, hot girls in leotards and spandex. On the negative side, pretty much everything else. Also on the plus side, slasher movies about burned and scarred tanning bed victims killing gym members with a giant safety pin.
I'm not sure why, but in the 1980's people sure seemed to have a thing for sledgehammers. There was Peter Gabriel's song, a TV series, and even a San Diego theatre group that formed late in the decade. But before all of that was writer/director David A. Prior's 1983 film Sledgehammer, the topic of this week's Motion Picture Purgatory.
About a month has gone by since last we told you about the new sliver of Sasquatchploitation coming our way known as Night Claws. This flick sounded like nothing short of chicken-fried gold, and now there are even more reasons to get excited!

I'm sure there are many of you out there wishing lightning really would strike and electrocute the Sci-Fi Channel - or at least some of its executives. I'm afraid that is not what this headline is about. It's a reference to a new original movie in the works over at Sci-Fi titled Lightning Strikes, about a paranormal creature lurking within the lightning that's holding a town hostage.
