This Sunday is Oscar day, but for genre fans it's The Saturn Awards that really matter, and we have the full list of this year's nominees. Although we have to say the horror pickings are rather slim indeed!

Chairman Troy Escamilla and the Fright Meter Awards Committee have announced that The Cabin in the Woods was named the Best Horror Movie of 2012, and the film also won in four more categories.

Last week provocative filmmaker Jennifer Lynch's latest thriller Chained, starring Vincent D'Onofrio, Eamon Farren and Julia Ormond, hit DVD and Blu-ray shelves everywhere courtesy of Anchor Bay Entertainment.

Ever since his stunning turn as tortured Private "Pyle" in Full Metal Jacket put him on the proverbial map back in 1987, actor Vincent D'Onofrio has managed to continuously turn in a string of memorable performances over the last 25 years.

The 45th Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia will be held from October 4-14, 2012.
