Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Interesting news coming out of Hollywood today. It appears that the powers-that-be at Warner Brothers are out to make their Whedonless Buffy the Vampire Slayer as good as it can be, given the fact that they've turned down what's probably a quick payday to wait for something with a bit more quality. If you're gonna do it, you may as well do it right. Or at least try to.
Anyone who doesn't think Dark Horse Comics is a horror fan's best friend, especially a horror fan who collects the Buffy the Vampire Slayer comics, should think again. Case in point: Dark Horse's twin announcements today of (a) the deluxe, oversized, dust-jacketed hardcover collection of Buffy Season 8 and (b) the first collection of the season with Buffy Season 9 Volume 1: Freefall.
Ah, Dark Horse...making dreams real for all the Whedon geeks around the world daily. We are well aware that DC's "New 52" are still making headlines across the globe, but the release of Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 9, Issue 1 and Angel & Faith, Issue 1 should also be cause for celebration! Here's what you can look forward to...
The schedule for the final day of the San Diego Comic-Con is now available, and one thing we're very excited about this year is the inclusion of TV shows in the venerable Hall H on Sunday, specifically fan (and DC) favorite "Supernatural". Although we have to admit we're not super excited that it's one of the first panels, which means we have to get up early that day as well.
It's been a while since we've heard anything about the Joss Whedon-less remake of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And although we've heard the feelings of most of the principal participants of the original series, one person has remained quiet. Until now.
More reaction to the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" remake from alumni has made its way online. This time Seth Green, who played the werewolf Oz for several seasons on the show, spoke about the upcoming film's effect on the fan base.
More "Buffy" alumni are voicing their concerns regarding Warner Bros.' proposed reboot of the much beloved "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" franchise, and it's as ugly as you'd expect.
With the Buffy the Vampire Slayer remake talk heating up, hard-core fans still have the Season 8 comics to keep them company with the final issue coming out in just a few weeks. In addition, Buffy herself is turning 30, and to celebrate both the end of Season 8 and the birthday of the beloved character, Dark Horse has announced six Buffy Birthday Parties across the country!
Around mid-December word started traveling around the Web that "Glee"'s Heather Morris was being considered for the lead role in Warner Bros.' Buffy the Vampire Slayer redux.
With all the recent developments surrounding the proposed Buffy the Vampire Slayer remake swirling about (Did Whedon pass? Was Whedon screwed?), it was only a matter of time before casting rumors began. Speaking of which ...
The folks at Sideshow Collectibles, big teases that they are are, today offered up a sneak peek at a couple of upcoming "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" collectibles in their weekly newsletter. Curious as to which characters will be getting the Statue treatment from Sideshow?
Just about a week removed from when "Buffy" creator Joss Whedon asked to be left "to his pain" regarding Warner Brothers' upcoming redux of the hit property Buffy the Vampire Slayer, some more news has come to light regarding Whedon's possible involvement.
So earlier today we reported that Warner Brothers had greenlit a
redux of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The most frightening part of the announcement? No Joss Whedon. How in the world could it happen without him?
Some interesting news coming out of the Atlas Entertainment camp. It appears as if fans (whether they want it or not) will soon be treated to a reboot of one of the most beloved fang-busting franchises ever, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
It’s ironic. The profession of horror journalism (or horror literature of filmmaking for that matter), at least for this writer, was initially and unsurprisingly inspired by my love of all things Halloween; yet, the subsequent October workload which has resulted often forces me to miss the simple trappings that launched my macabre interest in the first place.
