BUFF 2009 to Showcase Bad Biology, Plague Town & More!

Tomorrow night kicks off this year’s Boston Underground Film Festival in a very sick, twisted, and joyously demented way: with a screening of Frank Henenlotter’s latest body horror opus Bad Biology!

BUFF Adds Blood River!

One more quick update on next month’s Boston Underground Film Festival, March 19th – 25th; the programmers have added Adam Mason’s Blood River to their already impressive horror lineup, which includes Deadgirl, Bad Biology and Plague Town!

Final Blood River Trailer

It's been a while since we got an update on Adam Mason's Blood River, which Andrew rated quite highly after catching at last year's AFM. But we now have the final trailer up for your viewing pleasure below.

AFM: The 2008 Round-up!

Horror may currently be in a slump, but the 2008 American Film Market has shown a huge light at the end of the tunnel. This year showcased a record number of horror titles and Dread Central was on hand to catch a great deal of them. Some were good, some were bad but all showed that this genre still has plenty of lifeblood left. Many exhibitors were also kind enough to show us movie promos, while others coldly showed us the door (Lesbian Vampire Killers, I’m looking at you).

AFM: Mason's Blood River Goes International

Epic Films has jumped on board as international distributor for the latest from The Devil’s Chair (DVD review) director Adam Mason, Blood River, thanks to AFM. You may recall that Blood River’s been out there for a while now but this is the first time it’s been seen by distributors and all went very well.

Video Dread Exclusive: Uncut Blood River Trailer!

Ain’t love a bitch? That’s pretty much the message I get from the trailer for Adam (Broken, The Devil’s Chair) Mason’s next headfuck horror outing, Blood River. But then, I’m kinda strange; your interpretation will likely vary.

Exclusive: Broken Director Talks New Projects!

The other night I got on the horn with Broken (DVD review) director Adam Mason for our first “formal” interview (which you can hear right here).

Poster Pulled from a Bloody River

The man who brought us Broken (review) and Devil's Chair is moving his way on to another new horror pic called Blood River. Adam Mason has a way with titles, doesn't he? They could be about absolutely nothing, but I'd still go see them based on the names alone!

    Mason, Adam (Blood River)

Interview by: Johnny Butane I love it when this happens; an indie director drops us a line with details about his new movie, and it sounds interesting enough for me to warrant a viewing. Said films shows up, impresses me enough to give it a good review, and I pay attention to what the director is on to next. In the case of Adam Mason, that’s become quite a lot to keep track of. His first film, Broken (DVD review) got scooped up by Dimension Extreme as the flagship title of the new label, not a bad honor if you can get it, and his follow-up, The Devil’s Chair, is following in those footsteps. Then there’s his latest movie, Blood River, which is in postproduction as we speak, not to mention a slew of other movies in various stages of production. So finally I decided it was time to have a talk with the British badboy and get the lowdown on all the projects he’s juggling at present. The result is one of my favorite interviews to date, mainly because it was a long time coming; I hope you agree! Click here (or on the graphic) to download the Adam Mason interview as an MP3!
