Benicio Del Toro
While doing the touristy thing at a recent Universal Halloween Horror Night, intrepid reporter Ryan Rotten managed to snap some pics of the promo art Universal had on display for one of my most anticipated remakes of next year, The Wolfman.
If you thought Universal Hollywood's Halloween Horror Nights was going to be rocking hard with just Freddy, Jason, and Leatherface, then think again!
There's no doubt that Universal will have this pulled down quickly!
Tristan just got out of The Wolfman panel at Comic Con (lucky bastard) and came back with both good and bad news.
In the midst of all the Comic-Con madness, this bit of news managed to catch our eyes while wading through the crowds. The official site of Universal's The Wolfman launched today and provided us with a more detailed synopsis than what we've seen floating around before (see image below).
The Brits over at Empire Magazine managed to get their hands on the first production still from Cirque du Freak, the novel adaptation helmed by Paul Weitz and starring John C. Reilly, among others.
April 3, 2009 may be a long time away for Joe Johnston's remake of Universal's classic Wolfman, but the wait should be worth it. Benicio Del Toro alone makes up for it. If you've been wondering just how close to the original this new venture will be, STYD got a hold of the official synopsis:
For a change, it looks like the next two years may have remakes we horror fans actually want to see. Shocking, I know. While there are some stinkers and iffy titles on the way, The Wolfman stands out mainly because of the talented cast assembled for the project ... and we haven't had too many good werewolf films in recent memory.
If the printed press in the UK is to be believed, everything’s going very well on the set of The Wolfman, the much –anticipated remake staring Benicio del Toro, Anthony Hopkins and Hugo Weaving.
/Film has something in store for fans of the upcoming Wolfman remake starring Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins. A reader of the site was present at one of the exterior locations in England and took plenty of photos of the props and buildings.
I wasn't too sure about running this, but the following "set report" that was forwarded to STYD does make for an interesting read for those of us following Benicio del Toro's Wolfman remake.
Since the news first broke so many months ago that Benicio Del Toro would be playing everyone's favorite lycan, The Wolfman, the biggest question has been what he'll look like. Of course we all have faith in Rick Baker, but nowadays you just can't be too sure of anything.
Now check this out! A site called Bauer-Griffin got the first behind-the-scenes shots from Universal’s remake of The Wolfman, starring and being produced by Benicio del Toro! The pic you see below seems to be of del Toro waking up after a night of carnage; very cool!
Another very interesting name has joined the cast of Universal’s upcoming remake of The Wolfman according to today’s Variety: former Smith and Elf King Hugo Weaving.
As much as I would’ve enjoyed knowing some other fave director of mine was getting the gig, it’s kinda cool that the “underdog”, as it were, seems to have got the gig directing The Wolfman according to AICN.
