For those of you who don't live in Southern California, this weekend one of the main freeways into and around the Los Angeles area will be shut down, causing what lots of residents are referring to as "Carmageddon"! As you'll see in one of these new viral videos, even the future rulers of the world are pissed!

When you are Ridley Scott, director of such earth-shaking films as Alien, Gladiator, Blade Runner and Hannibal, you can pretty much call the shots. And where has Scott decided his next film will be shot: at the foot of Iceland's Hekla volcano. This is the same volcano international media reported was about to blow at any moment. The director wasn't fazed by the report.
I'm not even sure it would be possible for us to be more excited about 20th Century Fox's upcoming summer blockbuster, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and then a new trailer comes and we're drooling once again.
A fun fact about this writer is that I was so motivated by my love of the original Planet of the Apes, I once hand made myself and my ex Zira and Cornelius costumes for Halloween. So you can only imagine how intensely my geek senses have been tingling since the first trailer for the upcoming Rise of the Planet of the Apes dropped online courtesy of 20th Century Fox.
