‘Alien: Earth’ Creator Noah Hawley to Direct Reimagining of ‘Terrified’

Noah Hawley (“Alien: Earth”) is set to direct Warner Bros. remake of Demián Rugna‘s horrific Argentine supernatural shocker, Terrified, reports THR. Rugna will also develop the film with Hawley.

The news comes hot off the heels of Hawley’s “Alien: Earth” series on Hulu, one that took the Alien franchise in exciting new directions and proved Hawley a capable filmmaker in the horror genre.

According to the outlet, “the project will be a reimagining of the 2017 film, which centers on a police officer and a series of paranormal researchers and investigators who attempt to get to the bottom of supernatural occurrences that are centered in one neighborhood in Buenos Aires.”

Anyone who has seen Terrified knows that it’s a film that more than lives up to the title. Rugna (When Evil Lurks) is a master of sinister, nihilistic horror. Call me curious to see what Hawley does with the material.

Hawley will produce under his Austin-based banner, 26 Keys.

Stay tuned to Dread for more details on the reimagining as we learn them. Until then, stream the original film on Shudder.
