INFLUENCERS: Romance Turn Sinister in This Exclusive Clip [Video]
Dread Central is proud to debut an exclusive clip from INFLUENCERS, the hotly anticipated follow-up to 2023’s INFLUENCER. The film has already earned early praise from genre heavyweights, with Mike Flanagan calling it “a sharp, sweeping, and ambitious thriller.”
In the exclusive clip, an idyllic, romantic afternoon takes on sinister undertones when a friend’s disappearance comes to light, hinting at the darkness lurking beneath the film’s sun-soaked exterior.
Set against the sun-drenched countryside of southern France, INFLUENCERS follows CW, who appears to be living a quiet, idyllic life with her girlfriend, Diane. Beneath the surface, CW is concealing a dark obsession with murder and stolen identities. During an anniversary getaway, the couple encounters Charlotte, a bold and alluring influencer whose curiosity quickly turns intrusive. When CW gives in to a violent impulse, the fallout spirals out of control, and as Diane begins to sense the truth, CW’s carefully constructed life threatens to collapse.
The film premiered at the Fantasia Film Festival, where it received a 4.5-star review from Dread Central. In her review, Mary Beth McAndrews wrote:
“I’d watch several seasons and ten more movies about CW’s murderous antics around the world. Harder and Naud have made something special here, and with Influencers, they’ve proved it’s not just lightning in a bottle. Expanding the scope and developing CW’s character into something much more complex and almost sympathetic makes this a stellar sequel that filmmakers of all budget levels can learn from.”
INFLUENCERS is written and directed by Kurtis David Harder and stars Cassandra Naud, Emily Tennant, Georgina Campbell, Lisa Delamar, Jonathan Whitesell, Veronica Long, and Dylan Playfair.
