FAN EXPO Canada 2025 Kicks Off This Week in Toronto with Ewan McGregor, Hailee Steinfeld, and More!
The multiverse of pop culture fandoms will converge this week as FAN EXPO Canada takes over the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, running August 21–24, 2025 in downtown Toronto, Canada.
This four-day spectacle draws more than 135,000 fans to a multi-genre wonderland of cosplayers, comic creators, anime programming, horror showcases, gaming zones, and much more.
Dread Central at FAN EXPO Canada
Dread Central is proud to be part of FAN EXPO Canada programming this year with horror-focused panels that put genre creators and fans front and center. Friday at 4.15 pm EST, we are hosting the Horror Podcasting 101 panel, where we are inviting all horror fans and creators with original podcast ideas to come and pitch the DREAD Podcast Network live in person.
Then, on Saturday at noon, we are hosting a panel all about breaking into horror journalism without a degree. Toronto horror fans take note!
Major Celebrity Guests
This year’s guest list is stacked with some of the biggest names in film, TV, and fandom:
- Michael J. Fox & Christopher Lloyd – A rare reunion celebrating Back to the Future’s 40th anniversary, complete with photo-ops, autographs, and an exclusive “An Evening with Marty and Doc.”
- Ewan McGregor – The A-List star of Mike Flanagan’s Doctor Sleep will be present for exclusive experiences, including photo-ops, autographs, and special packages.
- Hailee Steinfeld – Star of Hawkeye and Sinners, making one of the show’s biggest headliner appearances.
- William Shatner – The legendary Star Trek icon returns to Toronto.
- Mary Steenburgen, Tom Welling, and even Mike Tyson are also confirmed as major attractions.
With sci-fi legends, blockbuster stars, and nostalgic reunions, this year’s lineup promises to be one of the most exciting EVER.
The festivities commence on Thursday (Preview Night) from 4 PM–9 PM (2 PM for VIP/Ultimate/4-Day pass holders). Then the major events continue on Friday & Saturday from 10 AM–7 PM. The final day is this Sunday, 10 AM–5 PM.
