‘Deathgasm II: Goremageddon’: BTS Peek at Sequel to the Viral Cult Horror Hit [Exclusive]

We’re thrilled to debut stills and behind-the-scenes images from Deathgasm II: Goremageddon, the long-awaited sequel to Jason Lei Howden’s cult horror comedy classic. One of these images gives fans a peek at a moment paying direct homage to a meme-worthy scene from the first film—a sequence that erupted into online infamy shortly after Deathgasm’s legendary 2015 SXSW debut.
Currently in post-production, Goremageddon is a New Zealand-Canada co-production that sees Howden return to the director’s chair, with Raven Banner Entertainment leading world sales at the Cannes Marché du Film. The sequel was shot last summer in Regina, Saskatchewan, with support from Creative Sask.
Milo Cawthorne, Kimberley Crossman, James Blake, Sam Berkley, and Daniel Cresswell all return for more splatter-soaked shenanigans. This time around, Brodie is down on his luck—jobless, single, and still grieving the death of his bandmates. But with a battle-of-the-bands competition heading to town, he’s ready to resurrect his crew (literally) with the help of The Black Hymn. Because if there’s one thing more powerful than love, it’s metal.
The sequel also features a thunderous original score by Trivium frontman Matthew Kiichi Heafy, cranking the franchise’s sonic chaos to brutal new heights.
“I’m so thrilled to be continuing the Deathgasm universe,” said Howden. “Like we saw with Eddie Munson in Stranger Things, not all heroes wear capes. Some wear Anthrax tees and denim vests.”
