Shocking Thriller With Unmissable Twists Is Now Streaming on Prime Video and Plex

Melissa George is something of a genre staple, even if most general audiences best remember her for her turn as half of 2005’s The Amityville Horror’s unmitigated hotness. Seriously, why did they make that movie so unfathomably sexy? A Lonely Place to Die is undoubtedly my favorite, though 2009’s Triangle is a close second.

Plus, Triangle director Christopher Smith rivals Melissa George as criminally underrated in the genre sphere. Smith has helmed the likes of Creep, Severance, and Black Death. While Smith hit a bit of a rough patch after Black Death, he returned to form with last year’s Consecration. And Triangle, for those who haven’t seen it, is currently streaming on Prime Video.

Per Prime Video: A group of friends overturns their yacht and is forced to take refuge in a drifting ocean liner. They soon find themselves hunted by an unseen attacker.

I cannot overstate how phenomenal Triangle is. So, I’ll let our own Tyler Doupé say it. In a 2023 installment of his column The Overlooked Motel, he wrote, “On the whole, Triangle is a twisty tale of overlapping timelines that delivers a fascinating conclusion that you aren’t likely to see coming.” It’s part slasher, part time-travel thriller, and part existential meditation on grief.

It’s a twisty mind-bender anchored to perfection by George. Its arrival on Prime Video is as good a reminder as any to seek it out if you missed it upon release. Those who have seen it can’t get enough, finding themselves drawn into its loop over and over again. Check out some choice reactions below:

What do you think? Have you had a chance to catch Triangle on Prime Video yet? Did the twist leave you in utter disbelief? Let me know either way over on Twitter @Chadiscollins. And watch A Lonely Place to Die (please).
