Horny Horror Hit ‘Candy Land’ Physical Edition Launches Next Year

November and December are some of my favorite months of the year. To make sure I’m ready for end-of-year lists, best-of guides, and the like, I get to dive deep into my backlog, catching up on all the sweet genre hits and unsung gems I missed throughout the year. If you’re the same as me, definitely make sure to include John Swab’s Candy Land on your year-end wrap list. Better still? Fans of the film will be excited to hear Roxwell Films plans to release a limited edition Blu-ray in February 2024.
Synopsis: A seemingly naive and devout young woman navigates her way into the underground world of truck stop sex workers a.k.a. “lot lizards.”
Roxwell Films has announced the limited-edition release will “[feature] exclusive Director Commentary and Digital Zine, of the critically acclaimed Candy Land from writer/director John Swab, and producer Jeremy M. Rosen.” Candy Land stars Olivia Luccardi (It Follows, Soft & Quiet), Eden Brolin (Yellowstone), Sam Quartin (Body Brokers), Owen Campbell (X), Virginia Rand (I Am Fear), Brad Carter (Ozark), Guinevere Turner (American Psycho), and Billy Baldwin (Backdraft).
Our own Mary Beth McAndrews was a huge fan of the film. In her review, she called it “a disturbing, horny, and unmissable new holiday horror classic.” She wasn’t the only one. Candy Land was one of 2023’s best-reviewed horror films and I am personally thrilled to see it get the physical media treatment.
