‘Living With Chucky’ Exclusive Clip: The Power of Practical Effects
Charles Lee Ray aka Chucky from Don Mancini’s iconic Child’s Play franchise has terrorized many of us since childhood. That flaming red hair and signature cackle haunted our nightmares, terrifying generations of kids. And no one knows this better than Kyra Elise Gardner, daughter of special effects artist Tony Gardner. So she made a documentary about it. Titled Living With Chucky, Gardner chronicles both the legacy of the franchise and her own personal and unique relationship with the killer doll.
“Living With Chucky has truly been a love letter not only to the franchise but to the people who work so tirelessly to continue to bring Chucky into the homes of horror fans everywhere,” said Gardner. “I hope people are able to feel just how much heart was poured into creating this film and possibly take away a newfound appreciation for their favorite franchise.”
We have an exclusive clip from the documentary where interview subjects explain why practical effects are so important, especially in the horror genre.
