Fans Say Don’t “Make the mistake of eating” While Watching This New Hulu Horror Series

There’s a new international horror mystery setting Twitter abuzz, and this time it’s on Hulu. That’s right! Hulu is the current home for this visually stunning cannibalistic drama. This means some of you can watch it on Disney+, and what a time to be alive! Gannibal hit the streamer in late December and has been doling out the terror weekly ever since.

In the series, after causing a major incident, police officer Daigo Agawa takes his wife and daughter to live in the remote mountain village of Kuge. It seems the perfect place to recover from the ordeal, despite the mysterious disappearance of a previous officer posted there. One day, the body of an old woman is found on the mountain. The Goto family says she was attacked by a bear, but Daigo notices a human bite mark. It soon becomes clear that not all is as it seems in the village.

Gannibal is based on a manga series created by Masaaki Ninomiya. The first three episodes are directed by Shinzô Katayama (who directed 2021’s Missing). The series stars Yûya Yagira, Shô Kasamatsu, Riho Yoshioka, Seiji Rokkaku, and Mitsuko Baisho.

Viewers have been all over Twitter to talk about how gross and unsettling the show is and sharing predictions about where this cannibal-filled journey will go next.

For those of us late to the Gannibal party, there is still time to catch up. Episode 7 drops Wednesday, January 31st. You can clear a day or two and slide in with next week’s “WTF?!” tweets if you set your mind to it. However, I do not recommend eating while watching though.
