‘Tin Can’ Director Talks the Surprising Medieval Influences on His Sci-Fi Film [Watch]

In Dread’s latest film Tin Can, Fret, a parasitologist, wakes up in a tiny chamber with no recollection of how she got there. Desperate to create a cure for a plague ravaging humanity, she fights to escape and save the world. But of course, it won’t be that easy. Director Seth A. Smith’s film is a claustrophobic, uncomfortably prescient experience with a gorgeous, yet unsettling, vibe.

We spoke with Smith over Zoom about Tin Can, how medieval aesthetics inspired the film, slime mold, and more!
