The 10 Most Disturbing Documentaries Streaming On Netflix, April 2022

Horror movies have nothing on the terror and trauma that a good documentary can inflict on our brains. While watching human beings sob for their mothers as they’re stitched together anus-to-mouth is an unpleasant sight to be sure; seeing the real-life events of the Luka Magnotta case play out over a handful of episodes is a whole lot worse. You really just should not be messing with cats.

However, if you’re out here looking to get wrecked on the most traumatic and unsettling documentaries the Internet has to offer … same. Luckily Netflix is a great resource for such dark outings. The world’s main squeeze streamer is absolutely stacked with heavy-duty nightmare fuel.

Here the top ten most traumatic documentaries currently streaming on Netflix:

  1. Abducted in Plain Sight
  2. Jimmy Savile: A British Horror Story
  3. Don’t F*ck With Cats
  4. The Ripper
  5. The Keepers
  6. The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez
  7. American Murder: The Family Next Door
  8. Team Foxcatcher
  9. Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes
  10. Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer

One of the most fascinating and upsetting original Netflix documentary series to mess me up recently was The Keepers. This 2017 title asks the very chilling question: who killed Sister Cathy? Catherine Cesnik was a nun and beloved school teacher who was brutally murdered in 1969, and the world was left with a few very burning questions. Take my word for it and check out The Keepers whenever you can.

Lastly, what about you? Which of the above disturbing documentaries will you be setting aside some time for? Let me know over on Twitter via @joshkorngut. I’m always around to chat all things true crime!
