‘The Munsters’: Rob Zombie Shares Beautiful New Production Design Photos

Hot off of the exciting news that Cassandra Peterson (aka Elivra!) has been cast in his reboot of The Munsters, Rob Zombie is back on Instagram with more updates. The shock rocker (turned family film director) has delivered us a handful of really beautiful behind-the-scenes production design images from his forthcoming film. Check them out below.

We’ve been privy to ton of very cool design details since pre-productuon began. However, these bad boys are chalk full of great gothic new details. Commenting on Rob Zombie’s Instagram post, Munsters star Jeff Daniel Phillips provides some context to the stunning BTS imagery. “The Budapest Production Designer & her Art Department went so beyond expectations-just so detailed, lush & gothic, can’t wait until audiences see their work!” writes the long-time Zombie collaborator.

Almost every detail that he’s shared has been an exact replica of what was seen in the original television series. The series only lasted for two seasons. It also produced a number of television specials, spin-offs, and features over the past 60 years.

The latest cast for the reboot includes Sherri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster, Jeff Daniel Philips as Herman Munster, and Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa Munster. Subsequently, the original cast of The Munsters featured Fred Gwynne, Yvonne de Carlo, Beverly Owen, Butch Patrick, and Al Lewis as Grandpa Munster. Together, the group played the average nuclear American family. But with a twist—they were a clan of monsters!

Lastly, there’s still no word if The Munsters will head to theaters, or if it’ll be exclusive through the streamer Peacock sometime this year.
