10 Horror Movies Totally Misrepresented By Their Trailers [Video]

That feeling when your Tinder date shows up and not everything is represented as advertised. That’s the the energy today over on Reddit where users are voting on horror trailers that don’t fairly represent their final products. This isn’t always a bad thing. Take Malignant for example; in an effort to shroud the more outrageous plot points, that trailer told a very different story.

So check out what Reddit has selected as the top ten horror trailers that just ain’t telling the truth. From over selling the horror vibes, or underselling the comedy elements, these trailers just weren’t disclosing the full story. All of the following titles are generally well received, but some of them took a box office beating for misrepresenting tone in their marketing journeys.

Malignant

It Comes At Night

The Cabin In The Woods

You’re Next

Scream

Donnie Darko

Catfish

The Witch

Red Eye

Jennifer’s Body
