Latest ‘Scream 5’ Featurette Reveals Unseen Footage And New Surprises
It’s always someone you know. And in the case of the new Scream film, it’s more than just one person. The latest video featurette promoting the next sequel has arrived and it’s stacked full of surprises.
We already knew there’d be faces old and new in Scream 2022. What we didn’t know was there’d be familial ties to characters long dead and still alive, respectfully.
The new video feature replays some of the trailer footage but extends a few of the moments to cue in some surprises yet unseen. For one thing, it looks like Sidney may now be a mother. As she’s out on a daytime run, we steal a momentary glimpse of Sidney pushing a stroller along. Could our beloved final girl now have a baby of her own? Suddenly the stakes are just that much higher.
Another interesting tidbit seen in the new video ‘relates’ to the new character Mindy. The lower-third for actor Jasmin Savoy Brown lists them as playing a character named Mindy Meeks-Martin. If that sounds familiar it’s because she’s clearly related to Scream legacy character Randy Meeks.
This isn’t the first time a relative of Randy has appeared. Subsequently, in Scream 3, actress Heather Matarazzo made a cameo as Randy’s little sister Martha. Looks like the Meek legacy is alive and well, and we are here for it.

The new film follows a young woman returning to her hometown, which is plagued by a series of brutal murders. Oh ya, and the slayings are all linked to a mysterious figure known only as Ghostface.
Director credits have been assigned to Radio Silence duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillet (Ready or Not). Original screenwriter Kevin Williamson has also returned to the role of executive producer.
