Capcom Hints at a Whole Lot of ‘Resident Evil’ Announcements to Come Later This Month

'Resident Evil'

Resident Evil headquarters, Capcom, has launched a new seasonal website to honor the 25th anniversary of the series. The Japanese page is translatable for English-speaking fans, and once you’re there, you’ll find several surprises about new content from the series we’ll get later this month.

Last week saw the release of the official trailer for Sony’s upcoming feature, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. Announcements about new themed merchandise, as well as new information about Resident Evil 4 VR, have also been made.

What we didn’t know until this site appeared, though, is that more reveals will take place starting this week and through the rest of the month. Three new announcements will go down on Thursday, October 21, followed by two on Friday, October 22, one on Monday, October 25, and a final one on Friday, October 29.

The trailer for Welcome to Raccoon City gave us a glimpse at one of the game’s most challenging villains, the Licker, along with several references to the Ashford twins from Capcom’s notoriously tough game, Resident Evil – Code: Veronica. Perhaps these forthcoming reveals will include some more footage from director Johannes Roberts’ new addition to the franchise.

Catch up with the official synopsis for Sony’s upcoming feature:

Returning to the origins of the massively popular Resident Evil franchise, fan and filmmaker Johannes Roberts brings the games to life for a whole new generation of fans. In Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, once the booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, Raccoon City is now a dying Midwestern town. The company’s exodus left the city a wasteland…with great evil brewing below the surface. When that evil is unleashed, a group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night.
