Chucky arrives in the first full-length trailer for the upcoming series based on showrunner Don Mancini’s Child’s Play franchise.
Chucky premieres on SYFY and USA on October 12th and we are counting down the goddamn days.
Thankfully Comic-Con@Home just provided fans of the franchise with enough murderous sustenance to hold us over just a little longer. The digital convention premiered a 12-minute feature from their “Legacy of Chucky” panel. This sucker is chock-full of easter eggs, teases and interviews with everyone involved in the series. Best of all, hidden within this glorious “panel” awaits your first full look at the upcoming Chucky series:
However, if you were planning on scrolling through the video for the trailer, hold up! This panel is a Child Play fan’s fever dream of additional cast interviews, conversations with creators, and tons of cool BTS footage that’ll prove how very practical the effects in this series are.
Chucky synopsis:
An idyllic American town is thrown into chaos after a vintage ‘Good Guy’ doll turns up at a suburban yard sale. Soon, everyone must grapple with a series of horrifying murders that begin to expose the town’s deep hypocrisies and hidden secrets. Meanwhile, friends and foes from Chucky’s past creep back into his world and threaten to expose the truth behind his mysterious origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.
Fresh faces appearing in the Chucky series are Zackary Arthur (Transparent), Lexa Doig (Jason X) and Devon Sawa (Final Destination). In addition, returning franchise favorites include Jennifer Tilly, Fiona Dourif, Alex Vincent, Christine Elise, and Brad Dourif (who provides the voice of Chucky).
