Snoop Dogg Returns to Horror in New Netflix Vampire Comedy

Looks like Bones and Hood of Horror star Snoop Dogg is finally headed back to horror. This time in the Netflix vampire horror-comedy Day Shift with Jamie Foxx.

The pic follows a blue-collar dad (Foxx) who just wants to provide a good life for his daughter. But his mundane pool cleaning job is a front for his real source of income. Hunting and killing vampires as part of an international Union of vampire hunters.

Dave Franco (The Rental) co-stars with Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Oliver Masucci, Steve Howey, and C.S. Lee. Meagan Good (Shazam), and Karla Souza (Jacob’s Ladder).

Scott Adkins (Debt Collectors) also stars along with Eric Lange (Antebellum). Zion Broadnax has also been added to the cast along with Snoop Dogg and the others.

JJ Perry will make his directorial debut with the film. He will helm from a screenplay written by Tyler Tice, with current revisions by Shay Hatten (Army of the Dead).

Chad Stahelski (John Wick) and Jason Spitz are producing with Shaun Redick and Yvette Yates Redick. Foxx, Datari Turner, and Peter Baxter are executive producers.

Bones (2001) was directed by Ernest Dickerson (Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight). Snoop Dogg stars as the titular Jimmy Bones, a murdered gangster that rises from the grave to avenge his death. It’s an homage to blaxploitation films of the 1970s.
