Scream Factory Now Announces New EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS Blu-ray

Scream Factory will release the cult classic creature feature Eight Legged Freaks with David Arquette, Kari Wuhrer, and Scarlett Johansson on Blu-ray on July 20th.

Special features, however, are still in the works and will be announced at a later date.
Eight Legged Freaks tells the tale of the residents of a rural mining town. They discover that an unfortunate chemical spill has caused a nightmare. Now hundreds of little spiders have mutated overnight to the size of SUVs. So now it’s up to David Arquette and Kari Wuhrer to mobilize an eclectic group of townspeople into battle.

Ellory Elkayem (Return of the Living Dead: Necropolis) directed from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jesse Alexander (Alias, Hannibal). David Arquette (Scream) stars with Kari Wuhrer, Scott Terra, Doug E. Doug, and Scarlett Johansson (Home Alone 3).
Roland Emmerich, the mind behind such mega-blockbusters as Universal Soldier, Stargate, Independence Day, Godzilla, The Patriot, The Day After Tomorrow, 2012, White House Down, and Independence Day: Resurgence executive produced.
Eight Legged Freaks is rated PG-13 for sci-fi violence, brief sexuality and language
It sports a 47% over on Rotten Tomatoes. The Critics Consensus reads: This homage to the B-movies of the ’50s has a promising first half, but runs out of ideas in the second.
