Cannon Films Doc GO-GO BOYS Now Hits Blu-ray 7/20

MVD’s Rewind Collection will release the 2014 Cannon Films documentary The Go-Go Boys: The Inside Story of Cannon Films on Blu-ray and DVD on July 20th. The release features reversible artwork and a mini-poster. The first pressing gets a slipcover.

CannonFilms was best known for Superman IV: The Quest for Peace and Masters of the Universe. And their action flicks like Invasion U.S.A., The Delta Force, Highlander, Cobra, Over the Top, Missing in Action, Bloodsport, American Ninja, Cyborg, and Kickboxer. Not to mention Enter the Ninja, 10 to Midnight, Revenge of the Ninja, Emmanuelle, Exterminator, Firewalker, Death Wish 2-4, and Runaway Train.

Plus, Mannequin, Breakin’ and also Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo.

But they also unleashed some cult classic horror movies like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, The Company of Wolves, Hard Rock Zombies, Invaders from Mars, New Year’s Evil, House of the Long Shadows, Hospital Massacre (aka X-Ray), and Lifeforce.

Directed by Hilla Medalia, The Go-Go Boys is the definitive documentary about Cannon Films. The up-close and personal documentary features interviews with Jean-Claude Van Damme, Eli Roth, and Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus themselves. As well as archive footage of Sylvester Stallone, Charles Bronson, and Chuck Norris.
