Sam Raimi & Netflix’s New Haunted House Movie Now Has Director
Sam Raimi recently optioned a short story collection, Every House is Haunted. Raimi shopped the film around this week and got several bids. Netflix came out on top.
It tells the tale of an insurance investigator. One trying to debunk claims a haunted house caused a couple’s death. But a psychic – and also mysterious occurrences he witnesses with his own eyes – challenge his doubts,
Sounds like fun to me. Plus, I love the title. Bring it on, I say!
Ian Rogers short story The House on Ashley Avenue is the basis for this project.
Jason Pagan & Andrew Deutschman penned the screenplay. Corin Hardy (The Nun, The Hallow) will direct. Sam Raimi will also produce with Zainab Azizi (65, Umma).
Roy Lee and also Andrew Childs serve as executive producers.
Up next for Raimi is his new production The Unholy. Written, co-produced, and directed by Evan Spiliotopoulos in his directorial debut, it’s based on James Herbert’s novel Shrine. Raimi produces through Ghost House Pictures. Jeffrey Dean Morgan stars with Katie Aselton, William Sadler, and also Cary Elwes. It hits TOMORROW.
