Tim Burton Wants Johnny Depp for Netflix’s ADDAMS FAMILY

Tim Burton’s new The Addams Family reboot is in the works. And today we hear Burton wants none other than Johnny Depp to join the possible Netflix series.

According to Small Screen, Depp is in the running to play Gomez Addams and the TV show will most likely debut on Netflix. They say: “It’s full steam ahead on Netflix’s The Addams Family. Tim Burton wants Johnny Depp to play Gomez Addams. He thinks he would do the role justice.”

Depp and Burton teaming up is nothing new. But still exciting! After all, the duo has gifted us classics like Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd, Dark Shadows, Sleepy Hollow, and Corpse Bride. Joining forces for The Addams Family seems a given.

In the meatime, remember the 1991 adaptation began when a man (Christopher Lloyd) claiming to be Fester, the missing brother of Gomez Addams (Raul Julia), arrives at the Addams’ home, the family is thrilled. However, Morticia (Anjelica Huston) begins to suspect the man is a fraud, since he cannot recall details of Fester’s life. With the help of lawyer Tully Alford (Dan Hedaya), Fester manages to get the Addams clan evicted from their home. Gomez realizes the two men are conspiring to swindle the Addams fortune and that he must challenge Fester.

Last month, Warner Bros. asked Depp to step down from his role in Fantastic Beasts 3. None other than Hannibal the cannibal Mads Mikkelsen will replace him.
