The super-violent flick begins in the distant future, the Earth is at war with a race of giant alien insects. Little is known about the Bugs except that they are intent on the eradication of all human life. But there was a time before the war… A Mobile Infantry travels to distant alien planets to take the war to the Bugs. They are a ruthless enemy with only one mission: Survival of their species.

Rated R or graphic sci-Fi violence and gore, and for some language and nudity, the film sports a 64% rating over on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: A fun movieā¦if you can accept the excessive gore and wooden acting.
Paul Verhoeven directed the flick from a screenplay by Edward Neumeier based on the novel by Robert A. Heinlein. Sony Pictures released it on November 7, 1997.
