A movie that was criminally underseen, and underrated, upon release was Paul Verhoeven’s Starship Troopers. A satirical take on war and fascism, the film focused on several soldiers as they fought against an alien race known as “Arachnids”. The film only made $121 million against a budget of $105 million, making it a commercial flop.

Casper Van Dien, the star of the original film (and also the third entry Marauder), has been posting some great behind-the-scenes photos from Starship Troopers via his Facebook page. The photos include him hanging out with his co-stars as well as lounging about on set. You can see the photos below.

Rather surprisingly, a reboot of the franchise was announced last November with writers Mark Swift and Damian Shannon, the duo behind Freddy vs Jason, Friday the 13th, Baywatch, and more, attached. Since then, no new information has been released.

Synopsis:
In the distant future, the Earth is at war with a race of giant alien insects. Little is known about the Bugs except that they are intent on the eradication of all human life. But there was a time before the war…

A Mobile Infantry travels to distant alien planets to take the war to the Bugs. They are a ruthless enemy with only one mission: Survival of their species no matter what the cost…
