Netflix’s RESIDENT EVIL Series to Enter Production in June
Last year it was announced that Netflix was working on a TV series based on the ever-popular Resident Evil franchise. And today we have what looks to be some new info on the series.
Redanian Intelligence reports that the series will consist of eight one-hour episodes (which makes sense) and these episodes will begin prepping in April to shoot this June through October with South Africa expected to be the main production hub.

Neither a showrunner or cast has been announced but we do know that the Netflix series is said to “keep the basic premise” of the games and will explore the dark inner workings of the Umbrella Corporation and the new world order caused by the outbreak of the T-virus.

The series will be a Netflix global original with German production/distribution company Constantin behind the scenes. The plan is to expand the Resident Evil universe and deepen the existing mythology but keep the basic premise, which served as a setup for the film franchise.
