To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Alamo Drafthouse, the chain has announced a series of exciting events that will take place throughout the rest of the year as a way of celebrating their commitment towards creating a fantastic theater experience. This celebration will include screenings, events, and reunions as well as brand new merchandise through the chain’s Mondo brand. More info on everything can be found here.

One of the ways they’re celebrating is by honoring the 30th anniversary of Fred Dekker’s classic children’s horror movie The Monster Squad with a nationwide tour that will feature live appearances by stars Andre Gower, Ryan Lambert, and Ashley Bank (Sean, little sister Phoebe, and Rudy, respectively)! The plan is for this to happen in late August, so if there’s a Drafthouse in your area, keep your eyes peeled for showtimes! More information about The Monster Squad can be found right here.

For many people, myself included, The Monster Squad was a film that essentially kickstarted our love of horror. It showed strong children that saved their parents, terrifying monsters that suddenly had nuanced additional dimensions to them, and, lest we forget, it gave the lifelong piece of knowledge that Wolfman’s got nards. Stephen King rules and so do the Monster Squad!
