Insidious Gets a Rating

The MPAA has handed down a rating for James Wan’s highly anticipated spooker Insidious, and we’ve got the scoop on whether or not you’ll have to sneak into the theatre and pretend to be someone else’s kids!

The film has been rated PG-13 for “thematic material, violence, terror and frightening images, and brief strong language.” Don’t get your panties in a bunch, though; rating or not, the early word on Insidious is that it kicks mucho ass!

With Insidious Wan reunites with Saw co-writer Leigh Whannell on the film, which follows a young family that makes the terrifying discovery that the body of their comatose boy has become a magnet for malevolent entities while his consciousness lies trapped in the dark and insidious realm known as The Further.

Look for Insidious (review here) in theatres on April 1st, 2011. And no, that’s not an April Fool’s joke!

Synopsis
“When proud parents take possession of an old house, an accident results in one of their sons falling into a coma. The tragedy doesn’t stop there when they are beset by vengeful spirits from another realm in this new chiller by the director and writer of Saw and by the producers of Paranormal Activity. The film stars Rose Byrne, Barbara Hershey and Patrick Wilson.”
