Well, that’s exactly what we’re doing! It’s May 1st, the fifth #MonthOfDread of our “Year of Dread 2021”! Enter the Uncanny Valley with a #MonthOfDread dedicated to dolls, puppets, animatronics, and more!

In celebration of DREAD’s upcoming release, Benny Loves You, we’ve crafted a #MonthOfDread that’s all about The Uncanny Valley! We’re talking dolls, puppets, ventriloquist dummys, animatronics, jack-in-the-boxes, and the like.
Look for Benny Loves You in select theaters beginning May 7th and also on VOD beginning May 11th. A Blu-ray release will also follow on June 8th. We’re really excited to unleash Benny on the world!
So what exactly is “The Uncanny Valley”? Basically, it means things that look almost human but not quite (like dolls, puppets, etc.) have a tendency to really freak us out! For a deeper dive into the term, its origins and, more examples check out the video below.
