The Gate Re-opens?

The GateHey, remember that really cool little flick from 1987 with the kickass claymation monsters and the corpse guy who lived in the wall that starred a baby-faced Stephen Dorff? Well apparently Andras Hamori's H20 Motion Pictures remembers it well as they've just green-lit a sequel!

The Hollywood Reporter reports tonight that the announcement for The Gate: 20 Years Later just came out of Cannes with F/X guru Randall William Cook (Lord of the Rings) sitting tightly in the director's chair!

No word yet on whether or not Dorff will be reprising his role, but I think that would be pretty cool, no?

Keep it right here for more as it comes!

I thought there already was a sequel to it. Or am I thinking about The Curse?

Eh, turns out, it's both.

Well, as long as Dorff is involved, i got no issue with it. Also, TMC is airing The Gate Saturday night.

Ah. Well, I guess a sequel is... better...? Do we need a sequel? Ah, I give up trying to figure people out.

It was originally supposed to be a remake in 3-D but they opted for a sequel.
