David Goyer Addresses Hellsing

Over the weekend one of the producers of the upcoming Hellsing adaptation contacted us and a bunch of other sites with the news that director David S. Goyer would be at the film's helm. There's just one problem...

"I woke up this morning to find a bunch of sites claiming I am attached to direct a film based on the anime HELLSING," says Goyer via his website. "The only problem is, it’s complete bullshit. I’ve never read the anime, nor have I ever been contacted by any of the people involved in the film. Normally, I wouldn’t bother commenting on a rumor — there are so many flooding the web each month, week, day, that it would be pointless. Most of them are just annoying. But in this case, where someone is apparently trying to promote their own interests by fraudulently claiming I am associated with a project, I take issue with that."

Producer's bullet, meet producer's foot. That loud bang you hear next will prove to be quite painful.

Synopsis
The Hellsing Organization is a secret division of the British Government formed to hunt down and eradicate any supernatural and satanic threats to the nation's security and to the throne and has done so for generations. Now a threat looms that could possibly wipe out all life on Earth, and it's up to Hellsing and its top agent, the vampire Alucard, to find the evil force and vanquish it, once and for all.

Thank God. I would appreciate him writing it, in theory. But his directing has always left me disappointed.

Too bad. I would love for Goyer to even just write it, let alone direct.
Oh well. Maybe his upcoming show, DA VINCI's DEMONS, will be good! }:D
