Cabin Fever: Patient Zero Begins Infecting Actors!

The first casting news for director Kaare Andrews' entry into the unlikely Cabin Fever franchise, Cabin Fever: Patient Zero, is finally here. Read on for the latest on who'll be scratching that old familiar bloody itch!

Variety reports that Sean Astin, Brando Eaton and Ben Hollingsworth will star in Indomina's sequel, which is set to begin production on August 13th in the Dominican Republic, where Indomina has some of its operations.

The flick will tell the origin of the flesh-eating virus that was unleashed in the 2002 original, directed by Eli Roth. The new film follows the passengers of a cruise ship in the Caribbean that runs aground on a research island. They must find a way to survive before the disease consumes them. Jake Wade Wall, who wrote the remake of The Hitcher, penned the script.

Original Cabin Fever producer Evan Astrowsky and his Hypotenuse Pictures are producing the movie with Indomina. The plan is to segue this film into a second sequel, Cabin Fever: Outbreak. Indomina Group vice chairman and CEO Jasbinder Singh Mann is executive producing.

I was interested until I read who's writing it. No one who was connected to the remake of 'The Hitcher' should ever be allowed to go near a film again.

P.S. The remake of The Hitcher is easily in the top 2 worst remakes in film history.
