Media Mogul Samuel L. Jackson Joins RoboCop RebootMore top-shelf casting news has come in for MGM's RoboCop reboot, and it makes us yearn for a crossover "versus" flick along the lines of Shaft vs. RoboCop. In a perfect world! Read on for the latest regarding who'll be doing what in Jose Padilha's new take on the now classic 1987 flick.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Samuel L. Jackson is joining the cast of RoboCop, which sees Joel Kinnaman ("The Killing") as the title hero, a cop named Alex Murphy who is brought back from the brink of death and turned into a cyborg police officer. Gary Oldman has already been cast as his scientist-creator. Jackson will play Pat Novak, a charismatic media mogul and a powerful force in the RoboCop world.

Currently the film has a tentative release date of August 9th, 2013.

Gary Oldman and Samuel Jackson are great actors, but it still doesnt make Me want to see MGM ruin another classic.

Sighs... Jackson will be playing the same semi-angry, semi-mouthy role he's played in every movie. I can only hope his character arc ends with RoboCop emptying a clip into his crotch.
