Per Deadline, this new version will be loosely based on the 1980s CBS series starring Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman and play as a modern day romantic love story with a procedural twist. Jennifer Levin ("Without a Trace") and Sherri Cooper ("Brothers and Sisters") wrote the script and are executive producing along with the creator of the original series, Ron Koslow; Paul Junger Witt and C. Anthony Thomas of Witt/Thomas Productions, which co-produced the 1980s series; and Bill Haber. In case you're curious, the other two pilots are "Arrow", based on DC Comics' Green Arrow, and an adaptation of Candace Bushnell’s novel The Carrie Diaries, a prequel to Sex and the City.
