Bill Moseley, Leatherface 3DHere’s some super cool news regarding a book I read a few years back and really dug. Everyone’s favorite Sawyer clan member, Bill Moseley, has signed on to play a lunatic called ‘Skinny Man’ in an upcoming adaptation of Ryan C. Thomas’ The Summer I Died.

According to the press release, Riothouse Entertainment recently closed a deal to acquire the film rights to Ryan C. Thomas’ novel The Summer I Died. Bill Moseley will play the villainous role of Skinny Man in this coming of age story about two friends who cross paths with the lunatic while trying to rescue a woman in desperate need of help.

The film version is to be directed by Eric Pereira (American Girls) from a screenplay penned by the book’s author Ryan. C. Thomas. Matthew Easton and David Lukan will handle producing duties.

I’m actually really grateful for this news because I had no idea that Thomas had written a sequel to the book. It’s called Born to Bleed and was released in 2011. A third book is in the works and is slated to be released next summer.

I’ll be loading the sequel onto my Kindle as soon as possible, and we’ll keep you posted on this news as more becomes available. In the meantime, consider giving The Summer I Died a read. It’s worth your time. The movie shoots in New Hampshire and Los Angeles in late February.
