Big news today for people who are looking forward to the much talked about adaptation of the brilliant Garth Ennis comic Preacher. It sounds as if things are cooking in a really big way. Read on for details.
According to Badass Digest, AMC has ordered a pilot based on the classic Vertigo comic by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon. For those not quite playing along, Preacher tells the tale of down-and-out Texas preacher (Jesse Custer) possessed by Genesis, a supernatural entity conceived by the unnatural coupling of an angel and a demon. Given immense powers, the preacher, teamed with an old girlfriend and a hard-drinking Irish vampire, sets out on a journey across America to find God — who apparently has abandoned his duties in heaven — and hold him accountable for his negligence.
The site didn’t know who exactly was behind the “Preacher” pilot but heard “the names are big and impressive.”
But wait… there’s more! One of those names may be Seth Rogen, who took to Twitter with the following tweets:
