If you’re anything like we are, and we assume that you are given the fact that you’re reading this, then we are pretty sure of two things: one- you are in a constant state of arousal, and two- you’ve sunk lots and lots and lots of time into the video game Temple Run. So what’s another 90 minutes?
Variety reports that Temple Run is heading for the big screen, as Gravity producer David Heyman and Warner Bros. are in talks to acquire movie rights. Temple Run, which debuted in 2011 from Imangi Studios, is centered on a player being chased by “demonic monkeys after stealing an idol from a temple.”
The game, designed and programmed by Keith Shepherd and Natalia Luckyanova, is usually played on mobile devices. Sequels to the original game were released earlier this year. Warner-based Heyman also produced all eight Harry Potter films and is producing StudioCanal’s Paddington with Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth.
Lynn Harris will oversee Temple Run for the studio.
