B-Sides: The Garbage Pail Kids Can Do Anything

Garbage Pail Kids: The Movie is so reprehensibly bad it’s the movie Troll 2 watches to feel better about itself. Garbage Pail Kids: The Movie is the kind of bad movie that’s so bad it gives bad movies a bad name. If you don’t believe me, then just try to sit through this musical number from the film.

A motion picture based on a controversial series of gross-out humor trading cards designed as parodies of a popular line of dolls – how could this possibly go wrong? Start with trying to make a Garbage Pail Kids live-action movie with a moral message meant to get all the objecting parental groups off their case.

This musical number has these rubber-faced Special Olympians from the deepest recesses of Sid & Marty Krofft hell singing “We can do anything by working with each other.” Yes, they can do anything… except make a Garbage Pail Kids movie that won’t make you long for the sweet embrace of death.

Watch! Watch if you dare! Just don’t say you weren’t warned. If you can sit through this, you really can do anything.

When I was young, I thought that Katie Barberi, as Tangerine, was one of the hottest women I had ever seen...

Awful film though.

Do you know what makes this so magical? The fact that being able to "do anything by working with each other" in this specific instance includes the Garbage Pail Kids voluntarily laboring in a Non Union Sweat Shop. No shit. Having witnessed this, my life is now complete.
