Pencil in a Date for Jaws on Blu-ray and a Classic Universal Monsters Blu-ray Box Set!

Words alone cannot fully express to you how long I've been hoping to write this news story. If there's one thing that Blu-ray has been missing, it's a nearly thirty-foot aquatic eating machine with rows and rows of razor sharp teeth. Oh,mand some classic monster movies. Looks like all that is about to change.

The Digital Bits just broke some news we've been waiting to hear for too long. According to the site Universal is tentatively expecting to release Steven Spielberg's Jaws on Blu-ray on 8/14/2012. They also report that at least some of the sequels may be released on Blu-ray on the same day, including Jaws 3D on Blu-ray 3D.

Now this isn't official just yet, but wow, is it a step in the right direction!

In other Blu-ray news TDB reports that Universal is also prepping a classic Universal Monster Blu-ray box set for next Halloween!

Stay tuned for official confirmations as they come!

I logged into Dread from China just to correct you in that the shark in the first Jaws was a 25 footer. 3 Tons on him.

But holy shit is this amazing news. I came. I came every where.

You were just blinded by your undying love for Jaws 3D in which yes, the Shark was 30 feet.

So wait, Wallick ... you say that something that's 25ft long cannot be described as nearly 30ft?
