[REC] The Video Game Coming in January to Your Mobile Device
Anyone who saw the stellar [REC] 2 knows why it's frequently compared to being a demonic first-person shooter. Think Doom meets The Exorcist. Well, someone was listening. In celebration of the release of [REC] 3: Genesis, a new video game based upon the popular franchise is headed our way!
The game will faithfully reproduce the content of much of the story, divided into four worlds, one for each part of the franchise. So, at first, users will enjoy the first two phases, which will be referring to [REC] and [REC] 2, and after which will come the third and fourth installments.
The official game of [REC] has been developed with Unity3D technology, a powerful game engine used to create products on multiple platforms, including hardcore platform PlayStation and mobile devices such as iPhone and Android.
The concept of play, a gender-based FPS (First-Person Shooter), exploits the possibilities of the 3D engine to provide the player with an immersive experience in first-person whose goal is to meet modeled scenarios and successive missions from the original locations of the films.
The design and development process took into account the very scary atmosphere of the film, employing a dynamic lighting scheme and a special surround sound library. On the other hand, the choice of weapons available for each scene and character has taken into account the component of action and violence which is also the hallmark of the franchise.
The game will be available on the following devices: iPhone, iPad, PC, Blackberry, and Android tablet. It will be available in several languages: Castilian, English, French, Italian and German. The price is 2.99 euros, and the game will be available in the first quarter of 2012.
