Sound the Undead Alarm! Code Red! CODE RED!
And the award for most dramatic headline of the day goes to... No matter how hard you try, no matter how many head shots you fire off, the living dead? They just keep on coming. Such is the case with the new film from the director of After Dark's Re-Kill entitled Code Red.
According to Variety eOne has inked a multi-territory deal, including U.S. rights, for Valeri Milev's Code Red, which was being shopped by Outsider Pictures at the American Film Market earlier this month.
The flick's story follows a female doctor struggling to find her daughter after a long lost World War II biological weapon explodes on a U.S. military base in Bulgaria, turning people into mutant zombies.
Milev, who recently directed Re-Kill for After Dark Films, will helm the film, which he says will present "a brand new type of zombie" for the screen.
Code Red is produced by Bashar Rahal and Indifilms, will begin lensing in March, and is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2012.

As someone who hasn't read The Hunger Games books, I've been anxiously awaiting the film's trailer in order to see what all the fuss is about, and I have to admit it's pretty impressive. Check it out and see if you don't agree that Lionsgate has a winner on its hands!
