Lionsgate Packs Up its Dibbuk Box and Moves The Possession to Next Summer

Poor Dibbuk Box. First it gets a title change, and now its release date is bouncing around Hollywood like an errant piece of Flubber. Break out the old planners, folks; it's time to add a new date. Use a pencil. You never know.

Look for The Possession in theatres on August 31st, 2012, over Labor Day weekend. The flick was originally slated for release this January, but we're thinking that Paramount's stellar looking The Devil Inside may have spooked them.

Ole Bornedal directed this latest horror film starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Kyra Sedgwick, Madison Davenport, and Natasha Calis.

Synopsis
A recently divorced father's (Morgan) youngest daughter becomes strangely connected to an antique wooden box she purchased at a yard sale. As his daughter's behavior becomes more erratic, the father senses a dark presence building until he discovers that the box was built to contain a dibbuk -- a dislocated spirit that inhabits and ultimately devours its human host.
