Katie Featherston Officially Heading to The River

Official confirmation has come for some casting news regarding ABC's "The River" which we told you about a few days ago. Fans will be treated to a bit of a paranormal reunion on TV when the show debuts on the easy to spell network.

Variety now confirms that Paranormal Activity franchise star Katie Featherston has landed a recurring role on the series, which hails from Paranormal mastermind Oren Peli.

"The River" stars Bruce Greenwood as Emmet Cole, a wildlife expert and TV personality who goes missing deep in the Amazon, prompting his producer wife (Leslie Hope) and son (Joe Anderson) to set out on a mysterious and potentially deadly journey to find him. Featherston will play a member of a TV wildlife team in the Amazon over a multi-episode arc.

Peli and his Paranormal collaborators Jason Blum and Steven Schneider are exec producing "The River" for DreamWorks TV and ABC Studios. Jauma Collet-Serra directed the pilot, written by Michael R. Perry (Paranormal Activity 2).
