Accident on the Set of Resident Evil: Retribution
An accident on the Toronto set of Resident Evil: Retribution this morning resulted in injuries to 16 people who are portraying zombies in the film. Fortunately it appears that none of the injuries are life-threatening.
TMZ broke the story that law enforcement sources say the actors were on a set that was on wheels ... when the set suddenly moved, and the 16 actors plummeted roughly 20 feet down to the ground. The costumes they were wearing were so gory that at first officials had a tough time assessing the real injuries. All of the actors were transported to a local hospital with some being treated for arm, leg, and back injuries - and possible broken bones.
The Toronto Police Dept. and the Ministry of Labor are investigating the situation.
Written and directed by Paul Anderson, Resident Evil: Retribution stars Milla Jovovich, Boris Kodjoe, Shawn Roberts, Michelle Rodriguez, Sienna Guillory, Johann Urb, and Colin Salmon. Look for Resident Evil: Retribution in theatres on September 14, 2012 from Screen Gems.
