Yancy Butler Returns from the Dead for Lake Placid 4

When I reviewed Lake Placid 3 last year, I stated that the best part of the film was Yancy Butler’s surly croc hunter. The producers must have agreed since she’s just been signed to star in Lake Placid 4 despite her character having died in the previous film.

Yes, Virginia, there will be a Lake Placid 4. Bloody Disgusting broke the news that Yancy Butler (“Witchblade”) has signed on to star in it. Hopefully, she’ll be playing the same entertaining character she did in part three. If that’s the case, they’re going to have to explain why her character is no longer dead. Different character? Twin sister? Guess we’ll have to wait until Lake Placid 4 almost certainly premieres on Syfy sometime next year.

The only other info as of now regarding this latest sequel is that it will be directed by Don Michael Paul (Half Past Dead, Who’s Your Caddy?), and filming will commence later this month in Budapest, Romania.

No plot details yet, but I think it’s safe to assume it will revolve around man-eating crocodiles in a lake.

Hey, they’re shooting it in Romania, right? Set the film in Transylvania and make it about a vampire crocodile. Don’t tell me Lake Placid 4: Crocula wouldn’t draw huge ratings for Syfy.
