According to Variety I Am Number Four thesp Callan McAuliffe is joining the cast of Paradise Lost, Legendary Pictures’ big-budget adaptation of John Milton’s 17th-century poem that will be directed by Alex Proyas.

Bradley Cooper, Ben Walker, Casey Affleck and Djimon Hounsou star in the heavenly epic, while Rock of Ages actor Diego Boneta is being eyed for the role of Adam, the first man on Earth.

McAuliffe will play Uriel, one of the first seven archangels created by God. When Lucifer (Cooper) rebels against God and Michael (Walker) is named commander of Heaven’s army, the dedicated soldier Uriel becomes his second in command.

Vincent Newman is producing Paradise Lost via his Vincent Newman Entertainment banner, while Legendary’s Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni are also producing.
